Russell Mabra has served as a member of DOVFD since July of 1986. He holds a degree in Emergency Management and Disaster Planning from the University of North Texas. As the former Fire Chief, Russell was responsible for all operations of the fire department.  He will assist with the administrative duties. Chief Mabra also frequently reports DOVFD activities to the Double Oak Town Council and participates in the Denton County Fire Chief's Association.
