The benefit of being part of a small town is the close-knit relationship formed between the citizens and the first responders who care for them. We find events such as the annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic as well as the Santa Meet and Greet, are wonderful ways for us to connect with our residents.Â
A big thank you to our 2020 Parade Sponsors:Â While this year’s celebration is a little different than years past, we could not have done it without you!

The Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department has announced plans and changes for the July 4th parade. Making alterations to our community’s beloved holiday tradition was a difficult decision, but necessary given the current concerns regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. The new plan allows us to continue with the tradition yet adhere to the State of Texas guidelines set forth for COVID-19 safety!
This year’s parade will include motor vehicles only and will have an expanded route through town to bring the parade closer to you while also minimizing crowds. Updated information on the parade route, times, and line-up will be added to the DOVFD website, Facebook page, and at Double Oak Town Hall as the information becomes available.
We have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s 4th of July Picnic. Please know we enjoy this event as much as our community. It will return!
The annual raffle will be continuing this year. There will be three grand prize drawings this year. Each is a $500 gift certificate from The Old Town Meat Market, Lowe’s, and Academy Sports. The first winner chosen will have first choice of the three. You need not be present to win. Tickets may be purchased at the Double Oak Town Hall or from any member of the fire department.Â
Thank-you for your continued understanding and support.Â
The DOVFD is happy to continue the tradition with our 40th Annual July 4th Parade! The parade this year will be longer (13.2 miles) and will course through the town of Double Oak. With the longer route, and with a faster pace this year (10-15 MPH) we are limiting participation to vehicles only. There are some neighborhoods that we are limiting to DOVFD only due to tight turning points and traffic control. The parade map and approximate times are provided.Â
